Social media post takes Eerie turn as comedian succumbs to kidnapping in Colombia
The tragic death of comedian Tou Ger Xiong has sent shockwaves through social media, particularly after a resurfaced post on his Facebook page took on a haunting significance. The 50-year-old comedian, known for his wit and activism, was abducted and killed during a trip to Colombia.
In a Facebook post from last summer, Xiong is seen jokingly standing between two women, captioning the image with an eerie remark: “In the event I get kidnapped, don’t look for me. I am happy.” Little did anyone know that this ominous post would become a chilling premonition of the comedian’s fate.
Xiong had traveled to Colombia in November with plans to spend time with family and go on a date with a woman he had met online. However, the date took a tragic turn when he was ambushed and kidnapped by a group of men. A demand for $2,000 (8 million Colombian Pesos) was made for his release, but the comedian, unfortunately, lost his life.
The identity of the woman leading Xiong into the kidnapping plot has not been disclosed by the police, but they have confirmed the arrest of a woman seen in images on Xiong’s phone. Xiong’s brother revealed that the comedian had been in contact with the mystery woman before the date, emphasizing the importance of investigating these new connections.
Xiong’s body was found in the La Corcovado ravine in Colombia with multiple injuries, including stab wounds and blunt force trauma. His family is now cooperating with law enforcement agencies investigating the crime.
In one of Xiong’s poignant Facebook posts before his untimely death, he shared a message of self-love, forgiveness, and compassion, urging people to choose positivity over negativity.
The comedian’s unexpected and tragic end has left the online community mourning his loss and reflecting on the eerie twist of fate reflected in his social media posts.
