Albanese praised Taha’s bravery during a recent interview with Adelaide radio station 5AA, stating, “He confronted this guy, the perpetrator, Joel Cauchi, on Saturday. It just shows extraordinary courage.” This statement came shortly after the Prime Minister promised a similar consideration for Damien Guerot, a French national who became known as the “bollard man” for his actions during the same attack.
