Apple cuts Vision Pro production as demand takes a dive”

Shipments slashed amidst plummeting demand, future model uncertain”

Apple‘s much-anticipated Vision Pro headset is facing a significant setback, with reports indicating a sharp decline in demand. Ming-Chi Kuo, a reliable source for Apple-related supply chain information, revealed that Apple has revised its shipment estimates for the year, slashing them to 400,000-450,000 units. This is a stark contrast to the earlier market consensus of 700,000-800,000 units or more.

The plummeting demand has prompted Apple to reassess its production strategy, particularly as it prepares to launch the headset in markets outside the US. The decline in demand within the US market has been particularly steep, forcing Apple to adopt a more conservative outlook for other markets where the Vision Pro is set to debut later this year.

It appears that the initial hype surrounding the Vision Pro has waned, with its popularity dwindling rapidly. Apple is reportedly reconsidering its future plans for the product, and there may not be a new Vision Pro model released in 2025. Additionally, shipments of the current model are expected to decline in 2025 compared to 2024.

The news comes as a blow to Apple’s ambitions in the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) space, signaling a setback for the tech giant in its efforts to establish a foothold in the burgeoning market
