TV personality Alison Hammond is said to be feeling disappointed after being dropped from hosting duties at the upcoming Baftas 2024. The 48-year-old Big Brother star, who gained prominence with increased screen time over the past year, temporarily filled in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning. Additionally, she made her debut as a presenter on the Great British Bake Off alongside Noel Fielding.

However, the hosting reins for the Baftas have now been handed to Doctor Who star David Tennant. Hammond, who co-hosted the event last year with Richard E Grant, is reportedly ‘gutted’ not to be returning to the prestigious ceremony.

According to an insider, Hammond had hoped to continue hosting the Baftas and potentially become a main host. The source revealed, “She’s gutted not to be asked back – especially as she has built up such a great rapport with all the A-listers in Hollywood who seem to love her too.”

The insider continued, sharing insights into Hammond’s mindset: “Alison often suffers from imposter syndrome and thinks that everything could get taken away from her at a moment’s notice, despite all her success.” Hammond, who entered the entertainment industry through a reality show, feels she has had to prove her skills and talent beyond being famous.

Expressing gratitude for her current success, the insider noted, “She’s really grateful for everything she has going on right now, but she’s aware how cut-throat the TV world can be.”

Earlier this month, David Tennant expressed his delight at being chosen as the host for the Bafta Film Awards. He stated, “I am delighted to have been asked to host the EE Bafta Film Awards and help celebrate the very best of this year’s films and the many brilliant people who bring them to life.”

During a discussion on This Morning last year, Hammond acknowledged struggling with imposter syndrome, sharing her perspective on the phenomenon. She said, “I think I’ve got that imposter syndrome… I’m seeing it from the outside thinking ‘Is this really real?’ I’ve been to that award ceremony so many times, and I’m alright with sitting in the background and other people taking the limelight, I’m alright with it.”
