The former Sydney radio star is now facing charges related to alleged assaults spanning two decades, with new accusations from a ninth alleged victim
Alan Jones, the former Sydney talkback radio host, has been charged with two additional offences, bringing the total number of charges against him to 26. The latest charges stem from allegations made by a ninth alleged victim, with accusations of indecent assault and sexual touching. New South Wales police announced the additional charges on Tuesday after receiving further legal advice.
Jones, who had already been arrested on Monday and charged with offences involving eight other alleged victims, denies any wrongdoing. His lawyer, Chris Murphy, has reiterated that Jones intends to assert his innocence in court. “Nothing has been tested. Nothing has been proven,” Murphy said following the charges.
The 83-year-old former broadcaster now faces 26 charges, including aggravated indecent assault, assault with an act of indecency, and sexually touching another person without consent. The alleged incidents are said to have occurred between 2001 and 2019, with one alleged victim reported to have been 17 at the time.

NSW police commissioner Karen Webb stated that Jones’ arrest followed an extensive and thorough investigation, and authorities had expected more individuals to come forward. She also emphasised that no case is “too old to be investigated.”
Jones, a prominent figure in Australian media, was known for hosting a popular breakfast radio show on 2GB for nearly 20 years. During his tenure, he was one of the most influential personalities in the country’s media landscape.
