ITV viewers are expressing their discontent with the latest episodes of the drama series ‘After The Flood,’ marking the second consecutive week of disappointment.

The high-stakes show, featuring actress Sophie Rundle in the lead, is under fire for its perceived “really stupid” plot, with criticisms intensifying after only two episodes. The program revolves around the aftermath of a severe flash flood in Northern England, exploring the challenges faced by both law enforcement and locals in its wake.

In the latest episode, PC Jo Marshall takes matters into her own hands, defying the instructions of her superiors to trace the relatives of a deceased man discovered in an underground car park. Using a genealogy website, PC Marshall’s efforts lead to unravelling another layer of secrets, connecting with a woman in France who believed her brother had died over five years ago. However, many fans found the plot riddled with holes, describing it as “shockingly bad.”

Voicing their opinions on X – formerly Twitter – viewers pointed out the apparent lack of coherence in the drama, with one online user sarcastically suggesting, “Hmm, how can we make a c**p drama seem more appealing to the masses? I know, let’s drop the F-bomb every other sentence. #AfterTheFlood.”

Expressing frustration, another viewer commented, “Urgh. #aftertheflood started strong but now we are down to the pregnant MC making really stupid, utterly unprofessional decisions for really stupid, unconvincing reasons. Good performances from the supporting cast but the story is utter tosh.”

A third disgruntled fan vented, “The script and the acting are shockingly bad #aftertheflood,” while a fourth bluntly asked, “Good God, what is this s**t? #AfterTheFlood.”

This marks the second consecutive week that ‘After The Flood’ has faced criticism from ITV viewers, with negative reviews surfacing after its premiere last week. The fate of the show’s reception hangs in the balance as audiences express growing disappointment.
