Celtic could secure their 13th title in 14 years with a draw away to Dundee United on 26 April.
Celtic are on the brink of sealing yet another Scottish Premiership title after the SPFL confirmed the post-split fixtures for the final five rounds of the 2024–25 season. The champions-elect will travel to Dundee United on Saturday, 26 April, knowing that avoiding defeat will be enough to clinch their 13th league title in 14 seasons.
Currently sitting 15 points clear of second-placed Rangers, Celtic have dominated the campaign and need just a single point from their final five matches to mathematically secure the trophy.
Their title chase resumes at Tannadice with a 12:30 BST kick-off, while the rest of the top-six fixtures on the same day see Aberdeen host Hibernian and Rangers travel to St Mirren.
Embed from Getty ImagesRangers’ faint hopes of catching their rivals hinge on an unlikely sequence of events and a perfect finish to the season. They’ll host Celtic in the final Old Firm derby of the campaign at Ibrox on 4 May, a fixture which could now serve as a formality in the title race.
Elsewhere in the top six, Hibernian’s final stretch includes tricky away days, notably a third visit to St Mirren Park this season—creating an imbalance that leaves the Paisley club with 20 home matches and just 18 away. Aberdeen’s push for European football includes showdowns with both Old Firm clubs and a final-day clash at Dundee United.
In the bottom half of the table, the relegation fight remains tight and unpredictable. Just six points separate seventh-placed Hearts and 11th-placed Dundee, with every club facing a tense final month. Motherwell, who open their split with a home tie against bottom club St Johnstone, face the unique challenge of ending the season with 20 away games—the first time this home/away imbalance has occurred since the 2017–18 season.
St Johnstone, five points adrift at the bottom, will hope to mount a late charge for survival, but their path looks treacherous. Following their opener at Fir Park, they face fellow strugglers Kilmarnock, Ross County, and Dundee in what promises to be a nail-biting final day.
The SPFL has also confirmed kick-off times, with all top-six teams concluding their campaign simultaneously at 12:30 on Saturday, 17 May. The bottom six will play their final fixtures the following day at 15:00.
