The Wonder Woman star reveals her deep fear about social media warping her daughters’ reality

Gal Gadot’s parenting struggles have her terrified. The Wonder Woman actress opened up about the challenges of raising four daughters in a world filled with filters, retouched images, and unrealistic beauty standards.

In a raw and emotional interview with DuJour Magazine, the 33-year-old actress admitted she constantly warns her children about the dangers of social media. Unlike her own childhood—free from the pressures of online perfection—her daughters are growing up in a world where every image is curated to an unrealistic standard.

“I always tell my kids that for me, growing up was so much easier than it is for them,” she said. “They don’t understand that what they’re seeing online isn’t real—it’s been filtered and edited beyond recognition.”

Gadot, who plays the Evil Queen in the upcoming Snow White live-action film, pointed out the eerie similarities between her on-screen role and the modern-day obsession with beauty. The Queen’s jealousy of Snow White’s youthful appearance mirrors the toxic standards that social media forces on young girls today.

“My kids see these images and think they’re real,” she explained. “They don’t realise how much manipulation goes into them. I have to keep telling them: ‘It’s all fake. None of it is real.’ It’s such a confusing world for a girl to navigate.”

Inside Gal Gadot’s Household: Chaos, Laughter, and Sleepless Nights

Despite her fears about the outside world, Gadot’s home life is full of noise, laughter, and emotion. She and her husband, Jaron Varsano, are raising four daughters—Alma, 13, Maya, eight, Daniella, three, and Ori, 12 months—in a household that’s anything but quiet.

“If you come to my house, they laugh, they fight, they cry—it’s a whole range of emotions, and I love it,” she shared. “Yes, it’s a lot. I juggle everything as best as I can, and my husband does an amazing job as a dad. But I don’t sleep much!”

Gadot’s honesty stands in stark contrast to the airbrushed version of motherhood often portrayed on social media. While many influencers present parenting as effortless, she is refreshingly open about the chaos and exhaustion that comes with raising four children.

A Life-Threatening Pregnancy Scare

Beyond her fears for her daughters, Gadot also revealed a terrifying personal battle. During her fourth pregnancy, she suffered from blood clots—a serious and potentially fatal condition. The health scare occurred in February 2024 while she was expecting her youngest daughter, Ori, who recently turned one.

Though she didn’t share specific details, the experience was clearly a harrowing one. For a woman often seen as invincible on screen, this moment served as a painful reminder that even superheroes have their struggles.

Fighting Back Against Social Media Lies

Gadot refuses to let the pressures of online perfection define her daughter’s self-worth. She is on a mission to make sure they understand that beauty isn’t what they see on Instagram—it’s not about filters, edits, or unrealistic expectations.

In a world obsessed with looking flawless, Gadot is fighting to make sure her daughters know the truth: real beauty isn’t found in a filter—it’s found in the messy, emotional, and imperfect reality of life.
