Queen Camilla’s hairstylist shares a shocking last-minute change of plans before her royal engagement.

Queen Camilla’s longtime hairstylist, Jo Hansford, has revealed an unexpected twist from the day the royal announced her engagement to King Charles. Having worked with Camilla for 35 years, Hansford recalled a surprising phone call that changed everything.

Speaking about the moment, she said Camilla had been scheduled to visit her salon in 2005 as usual. But out of nowhere, Hansford received a call summoning her to Clarence House instead.

“I thought: ‘What’s all that about?'” Hansford admitted. Upon arrival, she was met with stunning news—Camilla had cancelled her salon appointment because that very day, she and Charles were announcing their engagement.

The couple went on to marry in a modest ceremony in 2005, marking the beginning of Camilla’s journey as a royal.

The revelation comes just days after the Queen made a powerful visit to the Asian Women’s Resource Centre (AWRC) in Harlesden. Addressing the ongoing horrors of female genital mutilation, she praised the organisation for its tireless efforts.

“Thank goodness that you’re all here. What would they do without you?” she told staff and volunteers. After speaking with survivors, she added: “It was wonderful talking to these survivors and hearing what a difference this has made in their lives. You have obviously changed their lives.”

From royal secrets to championing vital causes, Queen Camilla continues to leave her mark on the monarchy.
