Cam discusses her “divine timing” collaboration with Beyoncé on Cowboy Carter album

Singer-songwriter Cam has revealed her overwhelming joy at working with Beyoncé on the latter’s groundbreaking album, Cowboy Carter. During an appearance on the red carpet at the 2025 Grammys, Cam shared her personal and professional transformation through the collaboration, calling it a moment of perfect synchronicity in her life.

Reflecting on the extraordinary turn of events, Cam admitted she was left in “disbelief” when she received the call from Beyoncé’s team. “I honestly couldn’t believe it,” she said. “But at the same time, it felt like divine timing.”

The singer-songwriter explained that, after the hardships of the pandemic and the joy of recently welcoming a child, she was finally in a place where she could release the pressure of meeting external expectations in her creative work. “I had just been through so much—pandemic, giving birth—and was tired of trying to satisfy everyone else’s views on my style. I wanted something authentic, and when the call came through, it just clicked,” she explained.

Having co-written five tracks for Cowboy Carter, Cam described how the music aligned perfectly with her newfound artistic freedom. “It was the perfect time to get that call, and I felt like the energy was exactly where I needed it to be. It was so refreshing and exciting to be a part of something that felt so in sync with what I was going through personally and creatively,” Cam added.

Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé’s highly anticipated eighth studio album, was released on 29 March 2024 to widespread acclaim, with Cam’s contributions hailed as standout moments on the record.

To add to the excitement, Beyoncé has confirmed a Cowboy Carter Tour set for 2025, an event that fans are eagerly awaiting. Cam’s participation in the album and the forthcoming tour highlights an incredible period in her career, one she describes as a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
