Threat likens Adityanath’s fate to that of slain NCP leader Baba Siddique, prompting increased vigilance ahead of assembly elections

The Uttar Pradesh Traffic Police have intensified security measures for Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath following a disturbing death threat received on Saturday evening. The threat, communicated from an unknown number to the traffic control room, warned that Adityanath would meet a similar fate to that of the recently slain Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader, Baba Siddique, unless he resigned from his position as Chief Minister.

As Adityanath prepares for his campaign in Maharashtra’s upcoming state assembly elections, the police have ramped up vigilance and launched an immediate investigation to identify the source of the threat. In connection with the case, authorities have already arrested a woman, although further details regarding her involvement have yet to be disclosed.

The alarming nature of the threat has prompted a comprehensive security boost for Adityanath, with law enforcement on high alert given the recent history of political violence. Concerns for the safety of political figures have escalated following the tragic killing of Baba Siddique, who was gunned down by three assailants outside his son Zeeshan’s office during Dussehra celebrations on October 12. This incident has raised significant fears regarding the safety of politicians, particularly in light of the increasing political tensions surrounding the upcoming elections.

Authorities are taking no chances, ensuring that security protocols are reinforced to protect Adityanath during his campaign activities in Maharashtra. As investigations continue, officials remain committed to ensuring the safety of all political figures in the region amidst a climate of heightened security concerns.
