The threat follows a series of alarming incidents, including the recent arrest of a 20-year-old man linked to previous threats against the actor

In a distressing turn of events, Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has once again received a death threat, this time accompanied by a ransom demand of ₹2 crore. An anonymous message was reportedly sent to Mumbai’s traffic control, warning that the actor would be killed unless the payment was made. Authorities have registered a case against the unidentified individual and are actively investigating the threat under various legal sections pertaining to extortion and death threats.

This latest threat comes shortly after police apprehended a 20-year-old man from Noida in connection with similar death threats directed not only at Salman Khan but also at Zeeshan Siddique, son of NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot dead on October 12. The suspect, identified as Gufran Khan, has been taken to Mumbai on a transit remand for further questioning.

Prior to this incident, the Mumbai Police had arrested Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, a 24-year-old vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, who was connected to another threat message received by the Mumbai traffic police. That message demanded an even larger ransom of ₹5 crore.

Salman Khan’s name has surfaced in threats allegedly orchestrated by the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which has ties to past threats linked to Khan’s involvement in the controversial blackbuck hunting case during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain. This gang has been infamously known for their criminal activities, including a reported shooting outside the actor’s Bandra residence in April of this year. In response to these threats, Salman’s security has been significantly heightened to ensure his safety.

The ongoing threats have raised alarms within the industry and among fans, prompting a discussion about the growing concern over celebrity safety. The tragic murder of Baba Siddique, a known associate of Salman Khan, has only intensified fears within the Bollywood community. Following the incident, Salman appeared on the reality show Bigg Boss 18, expressing his reluctance to return due to the emotional toll of recent events, stating, “I didn’t feel like meeting anyone because of the difficult situation I was going through.”

Authorities continue to urge anyone with information related to these threats to come forward, as the investigation remains ongoing.
