Sauber’s Formula 1 team is undergoing significant shake-ups as Audi prepares to take over, with drivers Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu reportedly on their way out.

Zhou Guanyu, the first full-time Chinese Formula 1 driver, joined Sauber in 2022 amid high expectations. While his arrival brought attention to Sauber, it seems his future with the team is uncertain.

Audi’s acquisition of Sauber marks a new era for the team, with a focus on sustainability and innovation. This move comes as Formula One shifts towards more environmentally friendly technologies.

Reports suggest that Nico Hülkenberg is set to join Sauber/Audi for the 2025 season, with discussions also ongoing with Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz. However, Sainz has yet to make a decision about his future.

Former driver Ralf Schumacher believes the decision to part ways with Bottas and Zhou is inevitable, stating that “Bottas is past his prime and Guanyu is not good enough at the end of the day.”

Sauber’s transition to Audi ownership marks a new chapter for the team, with significant changes expected both on and off the track
