Apple is set to introduce a new suite of AI features on the iPhone, adopting a unique approach that relies entirely on on-device processing, differentiating itself from Samsung’s hybrid model. According to Mark Gurman of 9To5Mac, Apple’s forthcoming AI capabilities will be powered by its own Large Language Model (LLM), developed in-house. This strategic choice to handle all AI processing on-device allows Apple to leverage the dual benefits of enhanced privacy and faster response times without reliance on cloud computing. The tech giant is anticipated to highlight these advantages extensively during its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in 2024.
