Gun shop owner recalls an interaction with Nikolas Cruz before the tragic shooting

In a chilling turn of events, it has been revealed that Nikolas Cruz, the perpetrator of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in 2018, left a negative review for a gun shop after they refused to sell him a firearm just months before the massacre.

The owner of Coconut Creek Pawn & Guns store, known only as Razi, recounted how Cruz had attempted to purchase an AR-15 assault rifle but was turned away due to the store’s policy of not selling firearms to anyone under 21.

Despite Cruz’s challenges to this policy, Razi stood firm, stating, “I don’t need an 18-year-old to buy a weapon and clear out his high school with it – not if I have anything to do with it.”

Razi was shocked to later discover that Cruz had left a one-star review for his store, describing the service as “very judgemental” and expressing dissatisfaction with being denied service.

The revelation came to light when authorities interviewed Razi after the massacre, and he recognized Cruz from a photograph as the same young man who had attempted to buy a weapon from him.

Reflecting on the incident, Razi said, “When I saw the picture, I said, ‘Yep, he was in my store.’ I had chills coming down my spine. I said, ‘thank god I didn’t sell this monster any weapon.'”

Tragically, Cruz was able to obtain an AR-15 from another shop and carried out the horrific attack, killing 17 people in approximately six minutes.

Despite prosecutors seeking the death penalty, Cruz was sentenced to life in prison due to a non-unanimous jury decision. Florida has since relaxed its rules, requiring only an 8-4 majority in favour of execution.

This story serves as a stark reminder of the importance of responsible gun sales and the devastating consequences that can result from a failure to uphold strict regulations
