Young boy’s brave act leads to shocking discovery in Henderson’s home

A nine-year-old boy was caught on police bodycam footage in tears as he handed officers a Ziploc bag filled with methamphetamine, which he had discovered hidden under his mother’s nightstand.

The emotional moment unfolded in Henderson, Vegas, as the boy bravely handed over the bag to officers who had been called to the scene by his father. The boy had contacted his dad after finding the drugs while alone with his mum at home.

The heart-wrenching footage shows the boy sobbing as he tells officers he found ‘drugs’ in his mum’s room. Meanwhile, his mother, Kendra Long, claimed she had no knowledge of the drugs or how they got into her home.

Following the discovery in July 2022, police determined that the bag contained over 100 grams of methamphetamine. Long was subsequently arrested for drug trafficking and child abuse.

Despite initially posting bail, Long faced further legal troubles. In January 2023, she was accused of violating her bail conditions, leading to a reminder from the Henderson Justice Court Judge Sam Bateman to comply with a family court order.

Long later pleaded guilty to drug-related charges and child abuse, receiving a suspended sentence of 24 months probation. However, in a disturbing turn of events, Long was arrested again in October after a probation officer discovered more drugs in her possession.

The boy is now living with his father, who has expressed pride in his son’s bravery.
