Avon and somerset police confirm arrests following fatal stabbings of mason rist, 15, and max dixon, 16
A somber atmosphere looms over Bristol as detectives charge a 44-year-old man, Anthony Snook, with the murders of teenagers Mason Rist, 15, and Max Dixon, 16. The tragic incident unfolded in the Knowle West area of Bristol on Saturday, January 27, where the two boys were attacked by a group of individuals.
Despite the efforts of both police officers and members of the public to render aid, Mason and Max succumbed to their injuries in hospital during the early hours of Sunday. The Crown Prosecution Service authorized the charges following a comprehensive review of evidence compiled by Avon and Somerset Police’s Major Crime Investigation Team (MCIT).
Anthony Snook, a resident of Hartcliffe, Bristol, is set to appear at Bristol Magistrates’ Court on February 1. A total of eight individuals have been arrested in connection with the investigation, with five others, aside from Snook, remaining in police custody.

Specialist family liaison officers are providing them with support, and we continue to ask that their privacy is respected during this challenging time.”
While the inquiry progresses with over 100 officers and staff working tirelessly, Haskins cautioned against the impact of speculation and social media on the families and legal proceedings. He emphasized the need to avoid any actions that could prejudice the ongoing investigation.
Victoria Cook, chief crown prosecutor for CPS South West, issued a reminder about the active proceedings against Anthony Snook, stating, “There should be no reporting, commentary, or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings.”
The Bristol community grieves the loss of Mason Rist and Max Dixon, and as the investigation unfolds, Avon and Somerset Police assure that updates will be provided to the public when possible.
