Iconic pop star accused of false advertising and negligent practices by disgruntled concertgoers
Madonna, the ever-popular 65-year-old pop sensation, is facing legal woes as two fans file a lawsuit against her for allegedly showing up hours late to one of her Celebration Tour concerts. Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden claim that Madonna’s tardiness inconvenienced attendees and caused subsequent transportation challenges, leading to a demand for compensation.
Currently on her 40th-anniversary tour, Madonna: The Celebration Tour, the singer is accused of taking the stage at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center a staggering two hours and 15 minutes after the scheduled 8.30 pm start time on December 13, 2023. Lawyers Richard Klass and Marcus Corwin, representing the disgruntled fans, argue that the delayed start resulted in the concert concluding at 1 am, imposing difficulties on attendees with limited transportation options.

Furthermore, it claims that the Wednesday evening concert adversely affected attendees who had work and family responsibilities the next day.
Fellows and Hadden allege they suffered tangible harm, including annoyance, harassment, time loss, frustration, and anger due to the late start. The legal action names Madonna, event promoters Live Nation, and the Barclays Center as defendants.
In June 2023, Madonna faced health concerns as she was hospitalized with a severe bacterial infection, leading to a temporary pause in her commitments, including the tour. The singer, born Madonna Louise Ciccone, made a full recovery and successfully resumed her tour, which now faces legal scrutiny over the alleged late starts.
