Coleen Nolan, 58, poured her heart out on ‘Loose Women’ today, sharing her struggle with the looming empty nest syndrome. The emotional revelation came as she discussed her daughter Ciara’s upcoming adventure—a one-way ticket to travel with her boyfriend, commencing on the 18th.

The TV personality admitted, “They’ve worked really hard and saved up, and I’m so proud of them both and her, but honestly, I just can’t stop crying.” Trying to hold back tears, she added, “It’s like losing my best friend.”

Ciara, at 22, has been an integral part of Coleen’s life, managing household duties and even taking on the role of “mother of the house,” as shared by Coleen’s co-host Ruth Langsford. “She helps run my life,” Coleen confessed, acknowledging the void Ciara’s departure will leave in the household dynamics.

Acknowledging her own busy schedule, including an upcoming solo tour, Coleen expressed the stress she feels, realising the impact of empty nest syndrome. Janet Street-Porter chimed in with advice, encouraging Coleen to let Ciara live her own life and to embrace her own growth through this transition.

The candid conversation shed light on Coleen’s feelings of redundancy, echoing her previous sentiments shared with OK! Magazine. Despite her initial expectations of relishing her children’s independence, she finds herself grappling with a sense of purposelessness in their absence.

As she navigates this emotional journey, Coleen is bravely facing the reality of her children leaving the nest and finding her footing in this new phase of life.
