Maisie-jade Thornton passes away from suspected seizure, leaving family devastated

Maisie-Jade Thornton, a 14-year-old girl, was found dead in her bed just two days after celebrating Christmas with her family. The teenager, who had been diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of ten, is believed to have suffered a seizure in her sleep.

Maisie-Jade spent Christmas Day with her large family, including her father Stewart Thornton and step-mum Mel Stott. On December 27, she stayed at her mum Rhiannon’s house and went to bed as usual. The next day, her mother discovered that Maisie-Jade had passed away during the night.

Kelly Hodgson, Maisie-Jade’s aunt, shared that the family had a joyous Christmas celebration with 13 or 14 family members. Maisie-Jade was described as always smiling, caring, and known affectionately as ‘Moo’ by her family. The news of her sudden demise has shattered the family, bringing them closer but leaving them in profound grief.

A Go Fund Me page has been set up by Kelly to raise funds for Maisie-Jade’s funeral expenses, which has already surpassed £6,000. The family is overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity and support from well-wishers.
