Conflicting accounts emerge after a fan altercation outside Connor Storrie’s Paris hotel goes viral

A heated confrontation involving one of the internet’s most recognisable celebrity fan accounts has become one of the biggest talking points of Paris Fashion Week, shifting attention away from the runway and towards the increasingly blurred line between online fandom and real-world behaviour.

The incident unfolded outside the Paris hotel of actor Connor Storrie, one of the most closely watched guests attending the Saint Laurent Men’s Spring/Summer 2027 show. Fans and photographers had gathered for hours in hopes of catching a glimpse of the rising star as he left for the event. Instead, attention quickly turned to an altercation involving Simone Cromer, better known online as Club Chalamet.

Cromer, a 59-year-old writer, has built a substantial following through her fan account dedicated to actor Timothée Chalamet. She launched the account in 2018, but it gained widespread attention in 2023 after she publicly questioned Chalamet’s relationship with Kylie Jenner, attracting both supporters and critics. Her online profile has since grown significantly, making her one of the most recognisable figures in celebrity fan communities.

According to posts shared on X, formerly Twitter, another fan waiting outside Storrie’s hotel claimed they recognised Cromer and became concerned about her presence. The fan later alleged that when Storrie emerged from the hotel, Cromer moved towards the actor, prompting a confrontation that escalated into a brief physical and verbal clash.

Speaking to journalist Louis Pisano, the fan claimed they believed Cromer posed a potential security concern for the actor because of her reputation within online fandom circles. They said panic set in as the actor appeared, leading them to intervene before the disagreement turned physical.

Cromer offered a sharply different account of what happened. In a lengthy statement posted on X, she said she was moving with the crowd when another person suddenly grabbed her backpack, nearly causing her to lose her balance. She alleged the fan shouted insults before the growing crowd forced the pair together again as Storrie exited the building.

She described the incident as an embarrassing and humiliating scuffle, insisting she had tried to avoid further confrontation but was pushed back into the other fan by the crowd.

Neither account has been independently verified, and the identity of the other fan has not been publicly confirmed. Rolling Stone reported that Cromer did not respond to its request for further comment, while the other fan also declined to respond directly to the publication.

The confrontation quickly spread across social media, where videos, screenshots and eyewitness accounts fuelled intense debate over the behaviour of celebrity fan communities. Many users questioned how online rivalries can spill into public spaces, particularly during high-profile events where celebrities are easily accessible.

The incident also renewed discussion surrounding Cromer’s long-standing online reputation. Before becoming associated with Timothée Chalamet, she was known for running a fan account devoted to actor Michael Fassbender. Critics have frequently pointed to her history of shifting fandoms and her outspoken opinions about celebrities’ personal relationships. Cromer has consistently rejected accusations that she behaves inappropriately or poses any risk to public figures.

Meanwhile, Connor Storrie remained the focus of Paris Fashion Week for his appearance at the Saint Laurent Men’s Summer 2027 show, where he sat alongside Madonna, Charli XCX and Debi Mazar. The actor’s attendance generated significant attention throughout the event, reinforcing his growing profile within both the fashion and entertainment industries. 

Ironically, the confrontation appears to have amplified Cromer’s visibility rather than reducing it. In a subsequent Instagram post, she said the incident would not discourage her from continuing to support Storrie, despite claiming she had been harassed and assaulted.

The episode has become another example of how modern celebrity fandom can extend far beyond social media. As passionate online communities increasingly interact with public figures in person, the debate over fan behaviour, personal boundaries and celebrity security is once again under the spotlight.
