Katie Price and Kerry Katona say their daughters, Princess and Heidi should star on ITV’s Love Island

Katie Price and Kerry Katona have revealed they’re keen to see their teenage daughters join the cast of ITV’s Love Island, urging them to follow in their famous mums’ reality TV footsteps.

The celebrity friends made the comments while reflecting on their children’s growing popularity and ambitions in the spotlight. Katie, 47, is mother to Princess, 18, while Kerry, 44, shares 18-year-old Heidi with her second husband.

The pair, both no strangers to television fame themselves, say their girls would thrive in the sun-soaked dating series, with Katie even suggesting they could appear together.

“I always say Love Island—Heidi and Princess need to do it together,” Katie told The Sun. Kerry quickly agreed, adding, “Forget management, forget fame—what an amazing memory, what an amazing adventure.”

The comments come as part of a wider conversation around so-called “nepo babies”—children of celebrities who are accused of gaining unfair advantages in showbiz due to family connections.

But Kerry was quick to hit back at critics, defending the idea of giving her children a head start. “Everyone talks about nepotism, right? But everyone has a contact for somebody,” she said. “I can open a door for you. Whether you get through it and stay there—that’s on your own merit.”

She added, “You don’t see Brooklyn Beckham playing football, because he’s sh*t. This is our family business. This is what we do.”

Princess, who has already amassed a considerable social media following and modelling deals, is not new to public attention. She recently starred on the cover of OK! magazine for her 18th birthday and launched her own ITV series The Princess Diaries.

It’s reported that she already has a net worth of over £500,000 and charges between £2,500 and £3,800 per branded video post on social media. She’s publicly vowed to become a millionaire before turning 20.

Meanwhile, Heidi has also been carving out her own path into the limelight. She now boasts over 18,000 followers on Instagram, and according to her mum, has just completed her first solo photoshoot. She is also a brand ambassador, offering discounts to followers and sharing sponsored posts.

On TikTok and Instagram combined, Heidi’s growing presence is estimated to earn her around £160 to £245 per sponsorship deal.

But Heidi’s ambitions go beyond social media. She previously competed on The Voice Kids in 2020 and has expressed interest in acting. According to sources, she’s already been in talks for a role in a feature film version of Pinocchio.

Both families have reportedly grown closer in recent months, with Princess and Heidi spending time together and inspiring one another’s next steps in the world of entertainment.

Kerry, who calls herself a “momager,” said she’s proud to support her daughter’s dreams and is happy for her to explore reality television if that’s the path she chooses. “It’s about giving them every chance,” she added. “They’ve got to prove themselves just like anyone else.”

Whether Princess and Heidi will end up coupling up on Love Island remains to be seen, but one thing’s for certain: both girls have strong backing—and plenty of ambition to match.
