Saif ANWAR JAPPA Special Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab, made a short and personal visit to the United Kingdom, what began as a private trip soon took on the character of an official visit. As soon as the overseas Pakistani community learned of his presence in the UK, a large number of people—keen to meet him—began contacting him through both personal and professional connections.
During his stay, over 200 individuals reached out to him, and around 100 were able to meet him in person. Although he received numerous dinner invitations, Saif JAPPA politely declined due to his tight schedule. His demeanor reflected humility and sincerity.
Saif Anwar JAPPA is widely regarded as a responsible, ethical, patriotic, and dedicated civil servant from Punjab. He not only maintains strong ties with overseas Pakistanis but also considers it his duty to address their concerns. He gives personal attention and takes every issue raised by overseas Pakistanis seriously.
Throughout the visit, there were repeated mentions of Afzal Bhatti, Managing Director of the Overseas Pakistani Foundation (OPF). Afzal Bhatti is considered a highly popular and influential figure among the overseas Pakistani community. Because of his reputation, a large and influential group of overseas Pakistanis, including members of various business forums, attempted to organise a grand reception in Saif JAPPA‘s honor. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and his prior commitments, the event could not take place.
In a few of his meetings, Saif Jappa praised Afzal Bhatti, calling him a man of principle, devoted to his work, and a true patriot. He acknowledged Bhatti’s tireless efforts in addressing the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis. Jappa noted that committed individuals like Bhatti are vital to helping Pakistan overcome its challenges.
Furthermore, SaifJAPPA expressed his full support for the current government, stating that it has become a ray of hope for the nation. He claimed that the government has enhanced Pakistan’s global reputation, and that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has dedicated herself fully to serving the public. He highlighted significant improvements in the health and education sectors, and added that a clean, transparent, and capable Punjab has presented Pakistan in a positive light internationally.
According to him, tourism in Pakistan is gradually increasing, as the world begins to view the country more positively. He described Maryam Nawaz as a divine gift for Punjab, and prayed for her long life. He added that she comes from a family that has always believed in public service, respect for elders, and humanitarian values.
In conclusion, Saif JAPPA said that Pakistan is moving forward on the path of development, and every institution is contributing to the nation-building process. He encouraged overseas Pakistanis to see this as the ideal time to invest in Pakistan, noting that today’s peaceful, transparent, and supportive Pakistan stands with overseas Pakistanis and will provide them with all possible facilities and support.
