Pervert who stalked schoolgirl and women on London Underground sentenced

Zevenor Gordon was jailed after sexually assaulting six female passengers across the London Tube network

Londoners are breathing easier after Zevenor Gordon, a prolific sexual predator who terrorised female Tube passengers across the capital, was finally brought to justice.

The 24-year-old from Lewisham embarked on a disturbing campaign of harassment and sexual assault from December 2023 to March this year, brazenly targeting women and even a schoolgirl in uniform during his spree. His repeated attacks across the London Underground system shocked the city and triggered a major police investigation.

Gordon’s sickening behaviour began late last year, when he assaulted a 27-year-old woman travelling to Dalston Junction. Just days later, he struck again at the same station—this time assaulting a woman in her fifties. But the pattern didn’t stop there.

He soon moved across the network, groping a woman in her mid-twenties on the platform at Baker Street, then attacking a 32-year-old commuter navigating London Bridge. Perhaps most chillingly, Gordon targeted a schoolgirl at Cutty Sark station, only to return to the same location days later and assault another woman in her early twenties.

Each time, Gordon fled the scene before officers could arrive. But victims’ bravery and the meticulous efforts of the Metropolitan Police meant justice finally caught up with him. Detectives matched descriptions and gathered CCTV footage. A string of positive identifications eventually led to his arrest.

At Woolwich Crown Court on 5 June, Gordon pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual assault. The judge handed him a 16-month prison sentence. In addition, Gordon was slapped with a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for a decade. Under the terms of the SHPO, he is forbidden from approaching or intimidating any woman or girl in public, or entering female-only facilities.

Detective Constable Gemma Lee, who led the investigation, commended the six victims for their courage and perseverance. “These women came forward in the face of fear, trauma, and distress. Their bravery ensured this dangerous man is now off our streets,” she said.

She also had a strong message for others who might consider similar offences: “We take all reports of unwanted sexual behaviour seriously and will always believe and support victims. Public transport should be safe for everyone, and we are determined to protect those who use it.”

In response to the case, transport police and local authorities are urging Londoners to remain vigilant and to report all forms of sexual harassment, no matter how minor they may seem. Officials stress that early intervention is key to preventing escalation.

The case has reignited concerns about safety on London’s transport network. Advocacy groups are calling for increased patrols, better lighting, and the rollout of more awareness campaigns encouraging victims and bystanders to speak out.

Commuters across the capital expressed relief that Gordon had been caught, but many also voiced concern that such a predator was able to roam freely for months. “It’s terrifying to think he was doing this so many times before anyone knew who he was,” said one female commuter at London Bridge. “You’re just trying to get home—and suddenly you’re a target.”

With Gordon behind bars and subject to strict monitoring once released, authorities hope the message is clear: London’s women and girls will be protected—and predators will be pursued.
