Bryan and Adcock’s tense confrontation at Born & Raised Festival caught on viral video

Country stars Zach Bryan and Gavin Adcock became the centre of a stormy scene at an Oklahoma music festival over the weekend, after a confrontation between the two singers spilled into the open — and onto social media.

The incident happened on Saturday at the Born & Raised Festival in Pryor, Oklahoma, where both men were in attendance. Video clips shared online showed an agitated Bryan confronting Adcock from behind a chain-link fence. In the footage, the Grammy-winning singer appeared to shout: “Hey, want to fight like a man?” before banging on the metal barrier separating them.

Adcock, flanked by members of his crew, stayed on his side of the fence while Bryan eventually walked away. But the clash didn’t end there. A second video soon surfaced, capturing Bryan scaling the wire fence in an apparent attempt to reach Adcock’s side directly.

The heated exchange instantly went viral, sparking speculation about what triggered the outburst.

Adcock later posted his own account of events on Instagram, claiming Bryan had been circling the festival grounds with multiple security guards earlier in the day before singling him out just before his set.

“Before my set I was standing outside,” Adcock explained. “He pulls up in a pickup truck outside the gate and starts giving out threats, so I just decided to stir him up to the point where he jumped over the fence.”

According to Adcock, Bryan knew exactly where he would be and what time he was performing. “He created this whole ‘I’m badass jump over the fence’ narrative, just to try to make himself look bigger or tougher, even though he could have just walked on in the gate,” Adcock continued.

The Georgia-born musician said he chose not to escalate the situation further. “I didn’t take the Zach Bryan bait, and I’ll be praying for him to get better because he sure needs it,” he said.

Adcock added that avoiding a fight was as much about protecting his fans as it was about staying clear of Bryan. “I didn’t want to get into a fight before performing and disappoint the people who came out to see me,” he noted.

Bryan, who has been one of country music’s fastest-rising stars and whose songs often draw from deeply personal experiences, has not publicly commented on the altercation. His appearance at the festival was significant, as Pryor is close to his Oklahoma roots, making the incident all the more striking for fans.

Online reactions have been swift and divided. Some defended Bryan’s behaviour as the mark of a passionate — if hot-tempered — artist, while others criticised what they saw as needless aggression in a professional setting. Adcock’s sarcastic caption on the first video — referring to Bryan as “Sack Cryin” — only added fuel to the already fiery online debate.

The Born & Raised Festival, known for celebrating Red Dirt and country artists, quickly found itself trending for reasons unrelated to music. Attendees reported that while the confrontation made for dramatic clips, it didn’t disrupt performances overall.

For now, the incident remains confined to words, video clips, and online commentary, but it underscores how quickly tensions can flare in an industry that thrives on both competition and camaraderie.

Whether Bryan will respond to Adcock’s remarks remains to be seen, but the weekend’s spectacle has already cemented itself as one of the most talked-about moments of this year’s country festival circuit.
