With a dominant 10-0 lead, Australia aims for an unprecedented clean sweep in the multi-format series as England seeks redemption in the final T20 and iconic Melbourne test.

Australia’s women’s cricket team, led by an indomitable spirit, are aiming for a crushing 16-0 whitewash in the Women’s Ashes. Following their rain-affected six-run win under DLS in Canberra’s second T20, they’ve already secured the series with an unassailable 10-0 lead.

All-rounder Grace Harris expressed no qualms about her team’s intent. “A whitewash would be outstanding,” she told BBC Sport. “It would be very, very good if we could embarrass England. They’re competitive, but we aim to put them to the sword.”

The final T20 in Adelaide on Saturday and the concluding Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground starting 30 January present opportunities for Harris and her team to etch their dominance further.

Despite the heavy loss in the first T20, England showed resilience in Canberra, falling just short of a DLS chase after rain intervened. Sophia Dunkley’s spirited 32 wasn’t enough, as Megan Schutt’s disciplined bowling ensured Australia held firm.

Harris acknowledged England’s fighting spirit. “They’ve got some really good players. I wouldn’t be surprised if they throw a few punches along the way,” she said.
