Man shot in leg in suspected targeted attack on Windsor Road, Tuebrook; police investigate

A man in his 30s is recovering in hospital after being shot in the leg during a suspected targeted attack on Windsor Road, Tuebrook, on Tuesday evening. The shooting, which occurred around 6.45 pm, prompted a swift response from armed police, who cordoned off the area as they launched an investigation into the attack.

According to police reports, two men dressed in black with their faces covered were seen fleeing the scene on a bike shortly after the shooting took place. Authorities believe the attack was deliberate, as they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The victim was rushed to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries, though his condition has not yet been disclosed. Officers remain on the scene this evening, conducting enquiries and gathering evidence to shed light on the events leading up to the shooting.

Neighbours in the area were shaken by the loud noises they heard just before police arrived. One resident, who lives on the Albert Road side of the cordon, described hearing “three or four bangs.” Initially unsure of what had happened, the neighbour thought the sounds might have been fireworks. However, the realisation that something more serious had occurred dawned when the police arrived, with one witness recalling, “When I looked out, it was police.”
