Warwickshire sends senior players and academy prospects on historic Pakistan tour ahead of the 2025 season
Warwickshire are breaking new ground with their first-ever tour of Pakistan, headlined by new paceman Ethan Bamber and left-arm wrist spinner Jake Lintott. The duo will lead a squad of academy prospects and emerging talents on a two-week cricketing journey in Lahore.
The Bears will train at renowned facilities like Aitchison College, where Pakistan legend Imran Khan once studied, and the Aleem Dar Academy. Their schedule includes four competitive matches against teams featuring Pakistan U-19 players and experienced first-class cricketers.

For Lintott, 31, the tour offers both personal preparation and mentorship opportunities. “I haven’t played much cricket this winter, so this is ideal for getting match-ready. Plus, I can pass on my experience to our younger lads,” he said.
Pakistan’s deep love for cricket adds to the significance of the visit. “It’s a religion over there,” Lintott observed. “I’ve played in India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh too, and the passion is unreal.”
The tour, running from 12-24 February, aligns with Warwickshire’s pre-season trip to Abu Dhabi. With their County Championship campaign kicking off on 4 April against Sussex, this exposure could prove invaluable for the Bears’ 2025 ambitions.
