Voahangy Rasetarinera, the owner of the Giving Pies bakery, receives reimbursement from Tesla following the cancellation of a $16,000 order
Tesla recently made headlines for abruptly cancelling a substantial order of 4,000 mini pies from The Giving Pies, a bakery in California, leaving owner Voahangy Rasetarinera in a financial predicament. Rasetarinera had already purchased ingredients costing $2,000 to fulfil the order, only to be informed by text message that Tesla had decided to cancel the order, leaving her out of pocket.
The incident sparked outrage among local communities and gained media attention, prompting an outpouring of support for The Giving Pies. In response to the backlash, Tesla swiftly reimbursed Rasetarinera for the cost of the ingredients, acknowledging the mistake and ensuring that the bakery was not left at a loss.
Rasetarinera expressed her gratitude for the support received from customers and the community, stating, “It’s so heartwarming, I’m so super grateful. I don’t think I have any words to use to say how grateful I am.”
Tesla CEO Elon Musk also addressed the issue on social media, pledging to “make things good with the bakery” and emphasizing Tesla’s commitment to customer satisfaction.
Despite the setback, Rasetarinera remains open to working with Tesla in the future, emphasizing the importance of forgiveness and moving forward positively.
