Fashion icon distances herself from the Sussex, citing a packed schedule and diverging paths.
Victoria Beckham has reportedly stepped back from her once-close connection with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, with sources suggesting the distance stems from her demanding personal and professional life.
The former Spice Girl, now a prominent fashion designer and entrepreneur, has chosen to prioritise her family and flourishing career over mending ties with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Ingrid Seward, editor of Majesty magazine, weighed in on the matter, claiming a reconciliation between the two parties is unlikely.
“I think the Beckhams have distanced themselves from Meghan and Harry, but for the obvious reasons that we all know,” said Seward in an interview with Fabulous. “Meghan and Harry are in the descendant, not the ascendant.”
Seward pointed to Beckham’s full plate of commitments as a key reason for the estrangement. “She’s got a business, a very successful husband, houses all over the place, and children to look after. I don’t think she probably has any time to think about it really,” she added.
The Beckhams and Sussexes were once considered friendly allies, with Victoria and David attending Harry and Meghan’s royal wedding in 2018. However, reports of strained relations emerged in recent years, fuelled by rumours and allegations of betrayal.
While the exact reasons behind the cooling of their friendship remain speculative, Seward noted that the Beckhams and Sussexes now lead lives that rarely intersect. “I only think they would reconcile if they come across each other, and I’m not sure that they really do,” she explained.
Victoria Beckham’s professional commitments continue to demand significant attention, with her fashion label thriving and her role as a mother to four children remaining a central focus. Her husband, football legend David Beckham, has also kept busy with his ventures, including his role as co-owner of Inter Miami CF, which garnered global attention with the signing of Lionel Messi earlier this year.
The Sussexes, meanwhile, have faced a turbulent period, navigating challenges in their media ventures and dealing with public scrutiny. Their move to step back from royal duties and subsequent relocation to the United States initially positioned them as disruptors of traditional royal norms. However, dwindling public support and a series of controversies have affected their popularity.
While the Beckhams’ decision to distance themselves might appear deliberate, sources close to the couple suggest it’s more about practical priorities than any direct animosity. For Victoria, balancing a demanding career and her family’s dynamic life leaves little room for outside drama.
As both couples continue on their respective paths, a reunion seems unlikely for now. However, as with many high-profile relationships, the future remains unpredictable.
