Trump encourages supporters to purchase Bible, amid financial pressures
Former President Donald J. Trump, known for his entrepreneurial ventures before entering politics, has unveiled a new product: a $60 Bible named the “God Bless the USA Bible.” In a video shared on his social media platform, Trump urged his followers to acquire the Bible, emphasizing its importance in American households. While Trump himself is not directly selling the Bible, he is set to receive royalties from its sales, as per sources familiar with the arrangement.
The “God Bless the USA Bible” features a King James Bible alongside a handwritten rendition of the chorus from Lee Greenwood’s patriotic ballad, “God Bless the USA.” Additionally, it includes copies of significant American documents such as the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, and the Pledge of Allegiance. Trump praised the incorporation of religious and political elements, aligning with his campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”
Trump emphasized the absence of religion and Christianity in the country, stating, “We must make America pray again.” This sentiment resonates with his ongoing presidential campaign, where he positions himself as a defender of Christian values against perceived attacks from the left. The Bible’s release coincides with Trump facing financial challenges, including mounting legal fees from ongoing legal battles. Despite this, Trump continues to leverage his brand through various products, including the “Never Surrender” sneakers, priced at $399, announced at a recent sneaker convention in Philadelphia.
The Trump campaign has not yet responded to inquiries about the business arrangements behind the “God Bless the USA Bible.”
