Police arrest man, 29, after alleged knife threat disrupts Travis Scott and Tyla’s London shoot.

A Travis Scott music video shoot in north London descended into chaos when a man allegedly threatened to stab a crew member, forcing the set into lockdown.

The 34-year-old rapper, best known for his chart-topping album Utopia, had been filming alongside South African star Tyla, 23, near the Broadwater Farm Estate in Tottenham on Wednesday. The notorious estate was the scene of the 1985 riots in which PC Keith Blakelock was killed.

While Tyla performed for the cameras, a man is said to have stormed onto the set, causing commotion just 40 yards from the artists. When a crew member confronted him and asked him to leave, he allegedly pulled out a knife.

One witness described the moment as terrifying. “Travis and Tyla’s music video was being filmed on a quiet street but with all the crew and security, it attracted attention. A member of the crew asked him to go, and that is when he started being threatening and pulled out what looked like a knife. It was terrifying for everyone. Travis was already shut away and Tyla was taken off set. It all went into lockdown and the police were called.”

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they are investigating. A spokesperson said a 29-year-old man was arrested after a crew member reported being threatened. Officers located a man matching the description on Willan Road, Tottenham. He resisted being searched and was placed in handcuffs. Police recovered class B drugs and cash, but no knife was found.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possessing a class B drug and under section 4A of the Public Order Act, which relates to intentional harassment, alarm or distress. He remains in custody at a north London police station while enquiries continue.

Despite the dramatic interruption, neither Scott nor Tyla were harmed. Production sources revealed that once police had taken the suspect away, filming continued. “The ordeal shook everyone up, but the crew remained calm. Travis and Tyla wrapped up their scenes like true professionals,” one insider said.

Scott, also known as La Flame, is no stranger to large-scale performances and tense situations. Just last month, he performed to tens of thousands of fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as part of his Utopia – Circus Maximus tour. He also headlined at Manchester’s Co-Op Live arena before appearing at Reading and Leeds Festival last weekend.

The video shoot had reportedly been planned for months and was intended to capture a gritty London aesthetic. Instead, it was overshadowed by the alleged threat that left crew members fearing for their safety.

Broadwater Farm’s troubled history added another layer of tension to the incident. The estate became infamous after riots in October 1985 culminated in the brutal murder of PC Keith Blakelock, an episode that still hangs over the area nearly four decades later.

For Tyla, who has risen rapidly with her viral hit “Water” and is now seen as one of Africa’s biggest global music stars, the experience was a stark reminder of the risks of high-profile filming on public streets.

The arrest has not deterred Scott and Tyla from pressing on with their collaboration. Insiders say both stars remained professional, wrapping their scenes once the area was secured. The project is expected to proceed without further delays.

Still, the incident has reignited debate over safety for musicians filming in public spaces. Though no knife was recovered, the fear it sparked lingers. For those on set, the day’s filming will be remembered less for its creative triumphs and more for the moment an alleged knifeman threatened to turn a music shoot into a crime scene
