A Nashville couple’s evening takes a chilling turn as they watch a stranger break into their house, shower, and leave an unwelcome ‘present’ during a shocking home intrusion

A Tennessee couple, Kerigan Nardi and her husband, experienced a nightmarish scenario when their home security app captured a stranger breaking into their southeast Nashville home. The incident unfolded while the couple was enjoying a date night dinner, receiving an alert of movement in their house around 7 pm.

Initially attributing the alert to one of their dogs, the Nardis were stunned when their security cameras revealed an unknown man kicking down their back door and rummaging through their home. To their horror, the intruder proceeded to take a shower, leaving the couple frantic as they called 911, concerned for their pets inside.

Law enforcement arrived to find the intruder, identified as Samuel Smith, sitting on the couple’s couch wearing only a towel around his waist. Smith was subsequently arrested and charged with aggravated criminal trespassing and possession of meth, according to the arrest affidavit.

The Nardis expressed their shock and violation, emphasizing the need for home security. Despite disinfecting the affected areas, disposing of the intruder’s towel, and bleaching the shower, the couple faced additional distress as the intruder left behind an unwelcome “present.”

Reflecting on the incident, Kerigan urged others to invest in security measures, such as cameras, deadbolt locks, and reinforced doors, to enhance home safety in the face of unexpected threats.
