In an unexpected twist on the set of the upcoming rom-com ‘Anyone But You,’ actress Sydney Sweeney shared a shocking moment when she was bitten by a real Huntsman spider while filming a scene with co-star Glen Powell.

Opting for authenticity over visual effects, filmmakers introduced a live Huntsman spider to the set, creating a unique challenge for Sweeney and Powell, who play the lead roles. In a particularly tense scene, the spider went off-script and bit Sweeney as the cameras rolled.

During an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Sweeney recounted the harrowing incident, even sharing a clip of the unexpected spider encounter. “They told me it was trained,” she said, expressing her disbelief at the concept of training a spider. As the scene unfolded, the spider deviated from the plan, sinking its fangs into Sweeney’s arm while she was supposed to scream for the scene.

Sweeney’s genuine screams took the crew by surprise, who initially thought she was making dramatic acting choices. Unaware of the spider bite, the crew continued filming until Powell noticed something amiss and alerted them.

The cut footage from the movie captures the intense moment when Sweeney, in character, realizes the spider is biting her, exclaiming, “It’s biting me, it’s really biting me!”

While the incident added an unexpected layer of drama to the rom-com, Sweeney, now cast as Madame Web in Marvel’s upcoming superhero film, found humor in the medic’s report, which cheekily dubbed her “Spiderwoman.”

Despite the scare, Sweeney and Powell managed to complete the scene, overcoming the challenges posed by the unexpected Huntsman spider.
