A 16-year-old boy was shot dead in broad daylight in south London as police hunt for the killer
A murder investigation is underway after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed in a Stockwell shooting in London. Police and paramedics rushed to Paradise Road at 3:21 pm on Tuesday, but despite their efforts, the teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.
Scotland Yard is now working urgently to confirm his identity and locate his next of kin. So far, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Met Superintendent Gabriel Cameron described the incident as “enormously shocking” and said it would cause “huge distress” to the local community. He assured residents that officers were working tirelessly to track down those responsible. “Please rest assured we will work around the clock to identify and find those responsible,” he said.

Local officers are gathering CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses in a bid to piece together the events leading up to the killing. Specialist homicide investigators have also been brought in to assist with the case.
MP Florence Eshalomi, who represents the area, expressed her sadness over the tragedy, calling the boy’s death a “life wasted.” London Mayor Sadiq Khan also reacted, calling the killing “abhorrent” and vowing that there would be an increased police presence in the area.
“My thoughts are with the family, friends, and wider community in Stockwell following the shocking fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy,” said Khan. “This abhorrent violence has absolutely no place in our city.”
A crime scene remains in place as forensic teams and detectives continue their investigation. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting reference 4116/4MAR.
