SpaceVIP announces a once-in-a-lifetime dining event in space, featuring cuisine by Chef Rasmus Munk for $495,000 per person

In a groundbreaking venture blending luxury dining and space exploration, SpaceVIP, a New York-based space tech company, is poised to offer an unparalleled dining experience at the edge of space. Slated for 2025, this unique event will host six diners aboard the Spaceship Neptune, the world’s first carbon-neutral spacecraft, for an extravagant meal priced at an astounding $495,000 (£391,000) per head.

The culinary journey, set to launch from Florida, will be curated by Michelin-starred Chef Rasmus Munk of Copenhagen’s celebrated Alchemist restaurant. Known for his innovative and boundary-pushing cuisine, Munk will prepare a meal that promises to elevate the dining experience to new heights—literally and figuratively. The six-hour trip aboard Space Perspective’s Spaceship Neptune will not only offer breathtaking panoramic views of Earth from over 100,000ft but also feature the largest windows ever flown to space, ensuring diners receive an awe-inspiring visual feast to match their gastronomic journey.

Unlike traditional balloon flights, this space dining experience boasts modern comforts, including what SpaceVIP has whimsically dubbed the “Space Spa” – a proper restroom facility. To further enhance the exclusivity of the event, each guest will be outfitted in custom-made attire by the French fashion house Ogier, employing innovative fabric technology designed specifically for the mission.

The proceeds from this extraordinary dining event will support the Space Prize Foundation, which promotes gender equity in science and technology fields. Chef Munk’s menu aims to provoke thought and discussion about humanity’s relationship with Earth, aligning with the overarching theme of space exploration’s impact on society.

Jane Poynter, Founder and Co-CEO of Space Perspective, emphasizes that this venture makes space more accessible than ever before, offering participants a life-changing perspective shift on humanity and our planet. Roman Chiporukha, Founder of SpaceVIP, views this mission as a pivotal moment in human history, blending private space exploration with fine dining in an unprecedented collaboration with Chef Rasmus Munk and Ogier.

As anticipation builds for this historic event, potential diners and space enthusiasts alike eagerly await more details on the world’s most expensive meal—a dining experience truly out of this world.
