A night of revelry turns fatal as Harry Pitman, 16, falls victim to brutal attack
In a heartbreaking turn of events just minutes before the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve, Primrose Hill in Camden became the scene of a devastating tragedy. Sixteen-year-old Harry Pitman lost his life in a stabbing incident that has left the community in shock.
As thousands gathered to witness the spectacular New Year’s fireworks display over London, the atmosphere turned somber as emergency services rushed to the iconic Primrose Hill. Harry Pitman, a young lad with dreams ahead of him, was fatally stabbed following an altercation.
Police arrived promptly at around 11:40 pm, but despite their best efforts, Harry succumbed to his injuries shortly before midnight. A 16-year-old boy was apprehended at the scene on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at a north London police station.
Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan, leading the investigation, expressed condolences, saying, “My thoughts and sympathies are with Harry’s family and friends at this difficult time. He was a young man with the rest of his life ahead of him.” Grogan emphasized the need for witnesses to come forward, urging those present at Primrose Hill during the altercation to provide crucial information.

Shocked witnesses took to social media, with one person expressing disbelief, “People are so desensitised now, they were just looking at the dead body with their kids. Who brings a knife out on New Years?”
