Vacation horror: Couple’s dream trip takes a dark turn, three culprits caught

In a chilling incident that has shaken the state of Jharkhand, India, a Spanish tourist, also holding Brazilian nationality, faced a horrifying ordeal while camping in a secluded forest area. The victim, a 31-year-old woman, and her husband were on an adventurous motorcycle journey across South Asia when they fell prey to a heinous attack by a group of seven men on Friday evening.

The attackers, driven by vile intentions, subjected the woman to a gang rape at knife-point, leaving the couple in a state of shock and despair. The husband, who was also brutally beaten and threatened with death, recounted the terror they faced, stating that the assailants made it clear that their primary motive was to sexually assault his wife.

The couple’s traumatic experience was further captured in a distressing video where the woman bravely shared details of the attack, emphasizing the brutality of their assailants who not only assaulted them but also robbed them.

In response to this heinous crime, local authorities have acted swiftly, arresting three of the suspects involved in the attack. One of the apprehended individuals has confessed to the crime, leading to significant breakthroughs in the investigation and a continued manhunt for the remaining perpetrators.

The police, under the leadership of Chief Pitambar Singh Kherwar, have launched an extensive search operation, determined to bring all those responsible to justice. The couple, initially found by a patrolling team and unable to communicate in the local language, were quickly taken to a hospital for immediate care.

The international community has also rallied in support of the victims, with the Brazilian embassy in New Delhi coordinating with the Spanish embassy to ensure the couple receives all necessary assistance. Despite offers of psychological care, the couple has opted to stay under the care of Indian emergency services.

This tragic incident has cast a shadow over the couple’s extensive tour of Asia, which had them journey through multiple countries with plans to continue their travels to Nepal.
