Prime Minister to address summit and engage in key regional discussions, including the Gaza situation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the highly anticipated Arab-Islamic Summit on November 10, 2024. The summit, convened by the Saudi government, brings together heads of state and government from Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member countries. Prime Minister Sharif is set to deliver a speech at the event and engage in discussions surrounding critical regional issues, particularly the ongoing situation in Gaza.
The summit will provide an important platform for addressing pressing Middle Eastern matters, with particular focus on the political, humanitarian, and security concerns surrounding the Gaza Strip. In addition to his address, the Prime Minister is expected to hold bilateral meetings with global leaders, seeking to strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic relations and contribute to regional peace and stability.

Joining the Prime Minister on his trip are Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi. The delegation will work alongside the Prime Minister in participating in high-level discussions at the summit.
In parallel, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has also travelled to Riyadh from Madina, where he took part in the preparatory meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers ahead of the summit, as reported by the Foreign Office.
The summit in Riyadh serves as an important diplomatic gathering, as member states of the Arab League and OIC work together to address shared concerns and strengthen collective action on regional and global issues.
