The actress warns of social media scammers using her name to manipulate and defraud innocent people
Sandra Bullock has broken her silence on a disturbing social media scam that is not only exploiting her fans but also putting her family at risk. In a fresh statement, the Oscar-winning actress made it clear that she does not use any form of social media, warning followers to be cautious of fake accounts impersonating her.
“My family’s safety, as well as the innocent people being taken advantage of, is my deep concern,” Bullock told PEOPLE. “There will be a time when I will comment more, but for now, our focus is helping law enforcement handle this matter.”
The actress emphasised that scammers are using her name to deceive unsuspecting individuals, often for financial gain. “Any accounts pretending to be me or anyone associated with me are fake accounts,” she stressed. “They have been created for financial exploitation or to manipulate people around me.”

“I spend multiple times a day reporting fakes, dealing with weird & scary emails to my BUSINESS and HOME from men who believe that, through one of these many fake ‘me’s, they have a relationship with my sister through private messages and off-app sites,” she explained. “Some have been giving THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS to an incredibly famous and successful grown-ass woman.”
The revelation has left fans shocked, with many calling for stricter social media regulations to prevent impersonation scams. As law enforcement investigates, Bullock urges her supporters to stay vigilant, never send money to unknown accounts, and report any suspicious activity.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity has been the target of online impersonation, but the scale of the deception surrounding Bullock underscores the growing dangers of social media fraud. For now, the Hollywood star is prioritising her family’s safety, but she promises to address the matter further once authorities take action.
