Stars turned heads at the 2025 Met Gala with surprise pregnancies, stunning proposals, epic returns and a jaw-dropping fashion parade.

The 2025 Met Gala dazzled New York once again with high fashion, bold statements and unforgettable celebrity moments. Themed “Tailored for You”, the event paid homage to Black sartorial excellence as part of the Superfine: Tailoring Black Style exhibit. But beyond the tailoring, it was the drama, reveals, and reunions that owned the night.

Rihanna—never one to miss a moment—stunned in a deconstructed Marc Jacobs suit-skirt hybrid, revealing her third pregnancy with A$AP Rocky, who also co-chaired the gala. A dramatic wide-brim hat and oversized cravat topped off a look that was both avant-garde and intimately personal.

Zendaya glowed in all-white Louis Vuitton, tailored by Pharrell Williams, complete with an 18-karat white gold engagement ring from Tom Holland. The 5.02-carat sparkler all but confirmed their long-rumoured engagement, sending fans into a frenzy.

In a comeback nobody saw coming, Madonna returned to the Met carpet for the first time since 2018, wearing a sharply tailored ivory suit by Haider Ackermann. The Queen of Pop cheekily lit a cigar as she ascended the steps, cementing her status as a fashion rebel.

Halle Berry, absent since 2017, made a sheer statement in a mesh LaQuan Smith gown paired with a cropped tuxedo jacket and veil—her most daring red carpet moment in years.

Meanwhile, Demi Moore proved she still knows how to make an entrance. Her Thom Browne gown, shaped like a necktie and covered in over one million beads, reportedly took 7,600 hours to craft. It was fashion as performance art.

Nicole Kidman shocked onlookers not with her custom black Balenciaga gown—but with a new ultra-short haircut that may or may not be a wig. Her look divided fans but undeniably grabbed attention.

One of the night’s most creative arrivals came from Doechii, who was wheeled out of her hotel in a mystery box to preserve her Louis Vuitton look. When she finally emerged, her face and fit were stamped with monogrammed logos.

Adding star power to the red carpet romance lineup, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner made their couple debut in coordinated Chanel. An engagement ring on Lipa’s finger sparked rumours, though no announcement has been made.

In a nostalgic moment, Diana Ross returned to the Met for the first time since 2003, outshining even Rihanna’s legendary 2015 yellow gown. Her 18-foot-long train by Ugo Mozie was embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren, marrying fashion with legacy.

In a surprise twist, Kamala Harris, rarely seen since the 2024 election, quietly attended the gala in a custom Off-White dress. Though she skipped the carpet, her appearance inside the museum made waves in political and fashion circles alike.

Musician Jon Batiste took the mood even higher by serenading Serena Williams with a saxophone solo on the blue carpet. Williams called it a spiritual boost, adding a romantic flourish to an already unforgettable night.

Meanwhile, some notable faces were missing. Sarah Jessica Parker, a perennial Met Gala favourite, was absent due to work commitments. And though Hailey Bieber showed up in Saint Laurent, Justin Bieber skipped yet again, continuing his recent retreat from public life.

From political cameos to personal revelations, the 2025 Met Gala proved once more that fashion is just the beginning. The real story unfolds in the moments that transcend the runway—and this year, there were plenty.
