Warner Bros. begins its international rollout of the Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans-led Christmas comedy a week ahead of its U.S. Debut.

Warner Bros. has launched the international release of Red One, the highly anticipated Christmas action-comedy starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans. The film, produced by Seven Bucks Productions and Amazon MGM Studios, hits major international markets such as the UK, Korea, and Spain starting today, with 75 international markets set to participate by the end of the week.

The movie is expected to generate between $25 million and $30 million in its early overseas opening. For comparison, *Red One* shares similarities with Johnson’s 2021 release *Jungle Cruise*, which debuted at $26 million in similar international markets. While *Red One* is set to dominate in English-speaking regions, Latin America, and Western Europe, its reception in Asia, particularly China, is anticipated to be more subdued.

Originally intended for streaming, Amazon MGM pivoted to a theatrical release after *Red One* performed well in test screenings. While Warner Bros. is handling the overseas release through its deal with Amazon MGM, the film will not be released theatrically in France or Turkey due to local windowing systems that would have delayed its streaming debut.

The movie’s international success hinges on its reception among young males, a demographic expected to show strong interest. Early reviews have been mixed, with a 40% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. However, with positive word-of-mouth, *Red One* could rise above competition from upcoming female-skewing titles like *Moana 2* and *Wicked*.

*Red One* will also be screening in IMAX and premium large formats (PLFs), and its international release comes just before its U.S. debut on November 15. The film’s team, including Johnson, Evans, JK Simmons, Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, and director Jake Kasdan, attended the world premiere in Berlin on Sunday before heading to the UK for promotional events.
