Rachel Zegler delivers an emotional speech at the ‘Snow White’ screening, reflecting on her five-year journey.
Rachel Zegler was visibly emotional at an early screening of Disney’s live-action Snow White as she reflected on her five-year journey bringing the beloved character to life. The 23-year-old actress took a moment to express her deep gratitude for the role during a heartfelt speech, just days before the film’s March 21 release.
Zegler, who first auditioned for the role at 19 years old, became emotional as she shared how much the film means to her.
“This is a movie that is so close to my heart,” she told the audience in a clip shared by Disney. “I auditioned for this movie when I was 19 years old, and I am about to turn 24. So it’s a really big chunk of my life—five of the seven years of my career, which is crazy. I love everybody in this movie so dearly.”
Her voice trembled as she described the long journey from casting to the film’s final release, calling it a deeply personal and transformative experience.
“Coming to the end of this road feels really crazy because when you spend so much time with something, it becomes such a big part of you,” she said. “Snow White has really been that way for me, and to see this is really emotional. So I’m going to try not to do that,” she added, holding back tears.
Despite her emotions, Zegler also expressed joy and gratitude for being able to portray one of Disney’s most iconic princesses.
“I love her, and I am so glad to see that so many of you love her as well,” she said. “Her superpower is her heart. It’s nothing supernatural—it’s something that all of us have. Deep within us, there is an inherent good and belief in the kindness of humanity.”
Zegler ended her speech with a powerful message about the film’s themes of fairness and kindness, hoping audiences will walk away with a greater understanding of what it truly means to be fair.
“Thank you so much for allowing me to be your Snow White. It means the world to me,” she concluded.
Her emotional speech comes at a time when the live-action remake has been met with mixed reactions and controversy. While some fans eagerly anticipate its release, the film has also faced public backlash, sparking debates about its modern reinterpretation of the classic 1937 Disney original.
Regardless of the controversy, Zegler’s passion and devotion to the role remain undeniable, as she prepares to bid farewell to the character that has shaped much of her early career
