Princess shares uplifting summer message as part of her Mother Nature series after cancer recovery
The Princess of Wales has called on people to “cherish the bonds of love and friendship” this summer in a new instalment of her Mother Nature video series.
In a post shared on Instagram, Catherine narrates over footage of natural landscapes and people enjoying sunny days on beaches and in parks. The message marks her second entry in the series, which she launched in May with a heartfelt Mother’s Day address.
Catherine has been gradually returning to public life since completing chemotherapy treatment last summer. In recent weeks, she attended both Wimbledon finals in her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, and visited the Wellbeing Garden at Colchester Hospital in July.
Posting alongside the new video on Wednesday, the Princess wrote: “It has never been more important to appreciate the value of one another, and of Mother Nature. Here’s to Summer.”
The footage was filmed at scenic locations across Sheffield, Bradford, North Wales, Anglesey, and the south coast of England.
In her narration, Catherine describes summer as the “season for abundance,” drawing a parallel between the natural cycle of blooming flowers and ripening fruits and human potential for growth. “As the flowers bloom and the fruits ripen, we too are reminded of our own potential for growth,” she says.
The video also features a group of dancers from The Royal Ballet School, who previously performed at the Princess’s Westminster Abbey carol service last year.
Concluding the message, Catherine encourages viewers to “embrace the joy to be found in even the most fleeting of moments and shared experiences.”

That earlier clip included shots of the couple walking their dogs in Norfolk, and Catherine spoke openly about her cancer journey, saying nature had been her family’s “sanctuary” during the past year.
Catherine’s focus on the therapeutic value of the outdoors continues a theme she has championed for years — emphasising time spent in nature as beneficial for both mental and physical wellbeing. The Mother Nature series appears to blend personal reflection with environmental advocacy, aiming to inspire viewers to appreciate their surroundings and relationships.
Royal commentators note that this message, arriving during the summer holiday season, may resonate with audiences seeking moments of connection and tranquillity in an increasingly fast-paced world. It also aligns with the Princess’s broader charitable work, which often centres on early childhood development, family life, and community health.
While Catherine has not confirmed when the next instalment of the series will appear, her growing presence on social media suggests she intends to maintain regular contact with the public between official engagements. The Mother Nature series offers a more personal and contemplative glimpse into her public work, combining cinematic imagery with themes of resilience, gratitude, and human connection.
As she continues her gradual return to royal duties, the Princess’s message serves as both a seasonal greeting and a reminder of the values she holds central: cherishing relationships, protecting the natural world, and finding joy in shared moments.
