Couple attends ceremony together forthe first time since 2023
Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the BAFTA Film Awards tonight for the first time in three years.
The couple arrived at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London, where the glamorous ceremony is taking place. Their appearance marks the first time they have attended the event together since 2023, before Kate’s cancer diagnosis.
Prince William attended the BAFTAs alone in 2024, and no royals were present at the ceremony last year.
Earlier in the evening, the smiling pair walked the red carpet in what appeared to be coordinated outfits. Kate wore a pink-and-cream gown cinched with a velvet belt, while the Prince donned a burgundy velvet jacket over a white shirt and bowtie.
During the ceremony, Prince William will present the BAFTA Fellowship Award to Dame Donna Langley, chair of NBCUniversal Entertainment.
The award celebrates her outstanding contribution to the film industry and is considered the highest accolade awarded by the Academy.
Elsewhere on the red carpet, Leading Actress nominees Emma Stone, Kate Hudson, Jessie Buckley, Rose Byrne, Chase Infiniti and Renate Reinsve were in attendance.
The stars showcased a variety of styles, with dresses ranging from sleek and elegant to dramatic and understated, in a range of colours.
The Leading Actor nominees also made an impression. Leonardo DiCaprio, Timothée Chalamet and Michael B Jordan appeared in sharp suits.
This year marks Jordan’s first-ever BAFTA nomination, for his role as the twins Smoke and Stack in the horror film Sinners. In addition to his nomination, the actor is serving as a presenter.
Other presenters at this year’s ceremony include Cillian Murphy, Kate Hudson, Milly Alcock, Aimee Lou Wood, Miles Caton and Paddington Bear.
Alan Cumming is hosting the event.
The BAFTA Film Awards are taking place at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
