Insiders say Harry’s royal ties are beyond repair after explosive claims and a snub from King Charles.
Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family appears to be in tatters, with insiders claiming the level of distrust is now so deep that reconciliation may no longer be possible. In a scathing account provided to Page Six, sources close to the monarchy claim neither King Charles nor senior royals trust Harry or Meghan Markle — and they likely never will.
The situation deteriorated further after King Charles reportedly refused to meet Harry during his recent visit to the UK for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games. A source alleged that Harry attempted to contact his father ahead of the trip but was met with silence. “Harry messaged Charles and he never heard back,” the insider said. “He wanted to talk to his dad about security stuff, but his dad wouldn’t speak to him.”
The security issue has become a flashpoint. Harry, 40, recently lost his legal challenge in the Court of Appeal over the UK government’s decision to revoke his publicly funded police protection. Speaking to the BBC following the ruling, he remarked: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring Meghan and our children back to Britain.”

But it was his comments on King Charles’s health that sparked the most outrage. In the same BBC interview, Harry said he didn’t “know how much longer” his father has to live — a line that many in royal circles viewed as crass and inflammatory.
Royal biographer Hugo Vickers condemned the remark as “disgraceful,” adding, “How does he know anything about Charles’s health if he’s not even talking to him?” He went further, stating: “Charles is, of course, right not to trust him. Harry is hopeless in that respect. Enough with the ‘me, me, me’ complaints. The King has got enough on his plate.”
Harry’s interview took an even darker turn when he appeared to allude to a conspiracy linked to his mother’s death. “Through the disclosure process, I’ve discovered that some people do want history to repeat itself, which is pretty dark,” he said. Asked to elaborate, Harry declined to name names but claimed, “I know all the names of the people that were involved in this process.”
The prince also accused the royal family of actively endangering his family by conspiring with foreign governments to deny them protection. “Not only did they decide to remove my security, but they also signalled to every single government around the world not to protect us,” he claimed.
Critics, including Vickers, have accused Harry of using the security row as a smokescreen to distance himself from future royal duties and events. “Harry should be begging his father for forgiveness,” said Vickers. “And it should be done quietly, not on TV. But he won’t. Because he’s so stupid, he’s basically blown it.”
The comments come amid growing concern within the palace over Prince William and Princess Kate’s efforts to protect Princess Charlotte from experiencing the same marginalisation Harry has long complained about as the “spare.”
Insiders say the royal family is deeply hurt but firmly united in its resolve to move forward without Harry and Meghan. While forgiveness may one day be possible, as one source put it bluntly: “They won’t forget.
