Harry reportedly unhappy with Meghan’s use of their children’s photos to promote her brand, As Ever

Prince Harry is reportedly at odds with wife Meghan Markle over the public visibility of their children, with new reports suggesting the Duke of Sussex is uncomfortable with their son and daughter being featured in promotional materials.

The tension reportedly centres on Meghan’s decision to involve their two young children—Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet—in marketing her lifestyle brand As Ever. While the move may be seen as a natural extension of her California-based lifestyle empire, insiders claim Harry isn’t pleased with the exposure.

According to royal correspondent Matt Wilkinson, who spoke on The Sun’s A Right Royal Podcast, Harry has long preferred to keep his children out of the public eye and away from social media.

“My understanding of this is that up to a certain stage, Harry would much rather his children were not seen,” Wilkinson explained. “He doesn’t want them to be photographed.”

Wilkinson went further, saying the prince fears a media frenzy the moment his family steps outside of their Montecito estate. “He’s got this idea that if he takes them outside of Montecito, that there is a hoard of us out there trying to take photos of his kids,” he said.

In contrast, Meghan—who grew up in Los Angeles and has often embraced the spotlight—appears to hold a different view. “She once said she would like to have a more California-style lifestyle,” Wilkinson noted. “Take them down the beach, go out, do stuff. She doesn’t want to hide them away.”

The result? A reported difference in parenting philosophies that’s causing friction behind the scenes.

The Duchess of Sussex has slowly been rebuilding her public profile through her new ventures after stepping back from royal duties in 2020. Her brand As Ever has gained traction, blending wellness, lifestyle, and fashion. The recent appearance of Archie and Lilibet in soft-focus promotional photos was viewed by some as an attempt to bring warmth and relatability to the brand—but it may have crossed a line with her husband.

Harry, who has previously spoken about the trauma of growing up in the royal spotlight, remains firm in his commitment to shielding his children. The Duke has regularly criticised the British media and their treatment of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, often citing that experience as a driving factor behind his move to California.

While there has been no official comment from the couple, this isn’t the first time tension between Harry’s guardedness and Meghan’s public-facing ventures has been hinted at in the press. The pair have often portrayed a united front in public, but their differing views on media exposure and parenting occasionally surface through trusted insiders and seasoned royal reporters.

Harry continues to focus on his philanthropic work and charitable commitments, including projects tied to mental health and veterans’ affairs. Meghan, meanwhile, is focused on developing As Ever, her return to podcasting, and ongoing advocacy efforts related to gender equality and social justice.

As their children grow older, the couple may find themselves navigating more of these delicate decisions, balancing public interest, business ambitions, and a desire for privacy in a world that watches their every move.

For now, it seems that while their bond remains strong, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are still ironing out how to parent under the shadow of global fame—and their differences in approach are beginning to show.
