Global pop star denied entry due to ID issue, venue apologizes

Pink, the renowned pop star, faced an unexpected hurdle during her visit to Sydney, Australia, when she was refused entry to a local club, sparking a response from the venue.

Despite having a prior booking and having secured it with a deposit, Pink, whose real name is Alecia Beth Moore, was turned away from the Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club because she did not have her ID with her. According to Mark Eymes, the Manly Market Manager, Pink remained composed and pleasant throughout the incident, despite her disappointment at not being allowed in.

Eymes expressed regret over the situation, stating, “It was just such a shame, and I felt a little embarrassed that a solution couldn’t be found.”

In response to the incident, Matt Hazell, the secretary manager of the Manly Skiff Club, issued a statement apologizing to Pink and her entourage for the inconvenience. He clarified that Pink was not forcibly removed but chose to leave after encountering the sign-in process issue, which is a part of the club’s policy to ensure all patrons are correctly signed in.

Hazell emphasized the missed opportunity to showcase Sydney’s hospitality to Pink and her group, expressing hope to welcome her back in the future.

The incident highlights the challenges even celebrities face when it comes to adhering to venue policies, underscoring the importance of understanding and flexibility in such situations.
