Comedian donates entire tour earnings to support major cancer organisations

Peter Kay has revealed that all profits from his 2026 stand up tour will be donated to twelve cancer charities. The comedian from Bolton is preparing to begin his Better Late Than Never tour in December, which will run until August and finish at the AO Arena in Manchester.

Speaking on the One Show, Kay explained that almost everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. He said he hopes people support the charities involved and joked that even if the shows are not funny, ticket holders will get their money back.

Peter Kay will donate profits to twelve organisations working across cancer research, treatment and patient support. Those benefiting include charities focusing on children, teenagers, kidney cancer, blood cancer, bowel cancer, prostate cancer, ovarian cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer and brain tumours, as well as organisations that support stem cell donation and bone marrow transplants.

The announcement has already drawn reactions from the charities involved. Rachel Calderon from Blood Cancer UK called the news a milestone moment and said the entire blood cancer community is grateful. Dr Michele Afif from The Brain Tumour Charity said Kay has their deepest gratitude and that his support will help drive progress for people affected by brain tumours.

The Better Late Than Never tour continues Kay’s return to live performance after years away from the stage. Demand for tickets remains extremely high and nine new tour dates will go on sale on Sunday. The decision to donate all profits marks one of the most significant charity contributions by a UK performer in recent years.

Kay’s gesture has been widely praised. Many people have highlighted how the tour will now serve not only as a major entertainment event but also as a powerful fundraising effort. The twelve organisations rely heavily on donations to continue their work, and Kay’s contribution is expected to make a meaningful difference.

The tour begins in December and will bring Kay to venues across the country before concluding next summer. For the comedian, the shows represent more than a return to the stage. They stand as a major show of support for charities helping families who are facing some of the most challenging diagnoses.

As excitement grows around the new tour dates, supporters and fans alike see Kay’s decision as a generous move that will help raise both money and awareness for vital cancer services. The 2026 tour is set to attract large crowds while offering crucial backing to organisations working tirelessly across the UK.
