Nina Dobrev reveals Shaun White’s mom asked about wedding plans the same day they got engaged

Nina Dobrev may have been glowing with excitement after her engagement to Olympic snowboarder Shaun White, but his mother, Cathy White, had only one thing on her mind—when’s the wedding?

In a recent interview, the 36-year-old actress admitted that just hours after the proposal, Shaun’s mom was already eager for details.

“The first day. When we told Shaun’s mom about the proposal, the first thing she asked was, ‘When’s the wedding?’” Dobrev recalled. “We were like, ‘Literally, it just happened. We have no idea.’”

Despite the pressure to start planning, the couple is taking their time, embracing the engagement phase before rushing into marriage.

Enjoying the Moment

Dobrev, best known for her role in The Vampire Diaries, explained that she and White, who got engaged in October, aren’t in a hurry to tie the knot.

“You spend so much of your life having a boyfriend and then hopefully the second half of your life having a husband. The fiancé period is so short—you should really enjoy it,” she said.

For now, the couple is focused on savouring this milestone, with no immediate plans to head down the aisle.

“I don’t want to rush it,” Dobrev added, making it clear that despite her future mother-in-law’s excitement, she and Shaun will set their own timeline.
